Door Prairie Auto Museum
in LaPorte, Indiana
(The Door Prairie Auto Museum no longer exists as such, but according to the curator of the LaPorte County Historical Museum, 32 of the cars from the collection are on display at the Historical Museum. The Historical Museum occupies the building which used to house the Auto Museum. More information is available on the LaPorte County Historical Society web site. Updated August, 2006.)
The Door Prairie Auto Museum is a treasure trove of classic automobiles. It has three levels with a multitude of cars on each level. This display is divided into those levels. Included are photographs of most, but not all, of the exhibits. I strongly encourage you to visit the museum if you are ever in the LaPorte area. More information can be found on the Door Prairie Auto Museum web site (no longer active). I was thinking about posting links to information about each automobile on the web, but it would be just as easy for you to go to Google and search for info about the cars.
